3 Architectural Drafting Projects to look forward to in 2022.

After months of paralysis due to COVID, the architecture industry has finally braced again this year, with new upcoming construction sites and aesthetically daring projects. New cultural institutions have hired renowned architectural firms to create some jaw-dropping projects that seize the spotlight.

Architectural Drafting Fort Lauderdale practice thus returns after pandemic to concreteness, exploding new projects worldwide. We have rounded out some exceptional designs, from spiritual mosques to complex designs that drew our attention.

Project #1

Marks Barfield Architects, Cambridge Central Mosque.

The project's planning commenced in 2007 when the existing Mawson Road was experiencing capacity issues. Instead of creating a replica of another mosque, the inventive and innovative ideas brought sustainable designs that incorporated traditional Islamic Design aspects and geometric patterns.

The mosque was completed with design riffs off local Cambridge architecture and adding aspects of Islamic culture. The 2,340 square mosques embodied timber to create tree-like pillars that form an interwoven octagonal canopy that holds up its roof. The tree-like pillars are made from cross-laminated timber, which is the mosque's most distinctive feature. Its interlaced lattice vault structure has been topped with castellated parapets to symbolize heaven and earth around the domed roof.

The Cambridge Central Mosque arguably to be a progressive turning point in the Architectural Drawings realm.

Project #2

Les Châtaigniers Seniors Housing, Rixheim, France by Lacaton & Vassal

The old retirement home site was demolished due to its obsolescence. French design duo Lacaton & Vassal were awarded for their stunning marvelous project. The carbon-sensitive and community-oriented approach drew the world's attention. The architects avoided demolition and preserved social fabric by transforming tower block communities and public spaces with grace and panache.

The elevation consists of steel poles and sheets of corrugated materials that have jambs and frames of sliding glass door, soft ripples of curtains, and a slim balcony railing.

Project #3

Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, designed by Fender Katsalidis

Fender Katsalids is a renowned Greek Australian architect that has designed cutting-edge Architectural Drafting projects in an urban landscape. Merdeka 118 is considered one of the world’s second-largest towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The new architectural icon is an important historic site near downtown Stadium Merdeka. The design studio has mixed use of hospitality, retail and residential at 118 stories that would be 2,227 feet tall overall with its spire.

The building is expected to reach completion in late 2022. The building includes triangular glass planes relevant to patterns found in Malaysian art and craft. The supertall skyscraper will feature various hospitality, retail, and residential facilities and focus on major tourist destinations.

In a nutshell,

These were some of the most awe-inspiring structures and aesthetically high Architectural Drawings that stood out for their beautiful spaces and places.
